For the 6th course visited on the "Golf Trip of a Lifetime" the guys took the pilgrimage to Cape Wickham on King Island. Those of you who have traveled with us before will understand their reactions.
We will let their words and posts do the work...
Move over, Pebble! Cape Wickham is the most visually stunning course @AlanShipnuck has ever seen.
This was one of the first tweets by Alan Shipnuck of Golf.com after visiting Australia on golf trip we arranged. Prior to the President's Cup, Alan and Matt Ginella of Golf Channel did a whirlwind tour of some of the top courses. After taking it all in Cape Wickham was the course that the group loved the most.
King Island is a quick 30-minute plan ride from Melbourne, with commercial and charter flights available. If you're anywhere near Melbourne - or going to Barnbougle - you'd be crazy not to make the trip to Cape Wickham. Sell a kidney if you must. - Alan Shipnuck, IG:@AlanShipnuck October 30 2019
"you run out of wows!" so says Heidi, a local, who was describing King Island's Cape Wickham, a Mike DeVries design. I love Kingsley Club, but what he did here is in the class of Cabot, Kingsbarn & everything coastal at Bandon. Honesstly, it's possibly The Best of the bunch. - Matt Ginella IG: @MattGinella 10/30/19
Editors notes: Cape Wickham, when all was said and done, was voted by Matt and Alan's group to be their favorite course.
